Who Is on the SUNYFL youth football advisory board
Inaugural President-Darry (Gator) Alton-
-To the FAMILIES who will become part of the SUN Youth Football League. I am delighted that you also love the game of football. I believe in this rough sport and the young men who play it. I do believe this game brings people from all walks of life together. I don’t want your boys to sacrifice their studies in order to play football. Whether in elementary, middle school, high school or college, one does not work without the other. Football will help them build friendships, character, social, and life skills that will lead to success in life. We here at SUN Youth Football League are committed to doing all that we can to help set their foundation for their football journey.
Darry has been producing football events for over 15 years. He is the creator of the GIU All American Games, The Las Vegas All American Classic, The Magnolia Gridiron Classic, The Paradise Bowl, UTAH vs THE NATION and Diamonds In The Desert. These games have showcased future pros like Tony Romo, Antoine Bethea, Pierre Thomas, Jahri Evans, Tony Brown, Patrick Crayton, Joshua Cribbs, Chris Harris, Akeem Ayers, Scott Young, Johnathan Franklin and many more NFL players when they were college or high school players
Greg Croshaw– “I’ve known Darry (Gator) Alton for over 20 years. I recruited him to play linebacker here at Dixie College. I have watched him bring football events from camps, high school classics to all-star games into the Southern Utah area. He is now at the helm of a new youth football league in Southern Utah. I believe in Gator so I believe in the SUN Youth Football League. I’m happy to be a part of the SUN Youth Football League Advisory Board.”
Former Head Coach at Dixie College, the 2nd most wins in JUCO history
Bill Jacobsen– I’ve known Darry (Gator) Alton for over 15 years and I have watched him put on some exciting high school and college football all-star games. Through it all he has always had the best interest of the players in mind. I’m happy to be a part of the SUN Youth Football League Advisory Board.”
Retired Head Coach of 3A two time State Champs Snow Canyon Warriors
Gordon Jolley– “I have known Darry (Gator) Alton for over 20 years. My first memory of Darry was when I needed him to move from linebacker to tight end. I remember him saying to me “whatever I need to do to help the team, coach”; which means that he is a team player, which in turn makes him a team leader. He will lead the SUN Youth Football League very well and I’m happy to be a part of the SUN Youth Football League Advisory Board.”
Former Offensive Coordinator for Dixie College; former NFL player for the Detroit Lions
Lanse Chournos– Having been involved in Little League Football for over 10 years I have found that coaching is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. After having a successful business career that enabled me to retire at an early age, I decided I would look for ways to give back to the community, what better way than to manage a Little League Football program.
